Are You Ready for Charleston’s Premier Creative and Marketing Awards?
Calling all you design divas, it’s your chance to enter the 2020 Spark! Awards and celebrate with a night of disco dancing. For the past year, creative and marketing professionals in the Charleston area have been busily crafting social media campaigns, developing ad materials, designing brand identities and brainstorming blog posts. Are you ready to showcase your grooviest work? Submissions are now CLOSED.
Here’s your chance to dress in your best polyester and join Charleston’s elite marketing community to celebrate another year of winning design and brilliant innovation. The 2020 Spark! Awards presentation will take place at Harborside East in Mount Pleasant on Thursday, May 7 from 5:30-8:00 p.m.
The theme this year is Disco. Dress code: Your best polyester jumpsuit.
Schedule: Enjoy an hour of networking, hors d’oeuvres, and open bar from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The awards presentation starts at 6:30 p.m., and the party wraps up at 8 p.m.

Best Digital Ad
Submit between 1-3 digital ads related to the same campaign.
Best Fundraising Campaign
Submit between 3-5 samples of marketing related to a single fundraising event.
Best Content Marketing
Submit between 2-5 pieces of original content from the same campaign/company.
Best Print Ad
Submit between 1-3 print ads related to the same campaign.
Best Promotional Video
Submit 1 URL to one promotional video (less than 3 minutes).
Best Logo Design
Submit 1 logo.
Best Outdoor Signage
Submit between 1-3 outdoor signs (e.g., billboards, bus ads, etc.) related to the same campaign.
Submit 1 website URL.
Submit between 1-3 samples of collateral (e.g., brochures, rack cards) for the same company.
Best Corporate Blog
Submit between 2-5 blog entries from the same corporate blog.
Best Commercial Photography
Submit between 2-5 original photos from the same campaign.
Best Book Cover
Submit 1 book cover design, front and back.
Best Use of Influencer Marketing
Submit between 2-5 components/pieces of content related to the same campaign.
Submit between 1-5 illustrations related to the same campaign.
Best Direct Mail
Submit between 1-3 direct mail pieces (i.e., anything sent through the mail) related to the same campaign.
Submit between 2-5 e-newsletters from the same company.
Best Event Marketing
Submit between 3-5 samples of marketing related to a single event.
Best Non-Traditional Marketing
Submit between 1-3 pieces related to the same campaign.
Submit 3-5 samples of a branding effort.
Best Social Media Campaign
Submit 3-5 samples of marketing efforts for a single campaign that used more than one social media channel.
Best Social Media Presence
Submit 3-5 samples from a single social media channel.
AMA CHARLESTON SPECIAL AWARDS
There is no cost to nominate an individual or organization for these awards.
The Giving Award
The Giving Award recognizes the work of any individual or company based in the tri-county area that has donated a marketing service to a nonprofit organization. Submit between 1-5 examples for one project or campaign in which work was donated to a registered nonprofit organization.
Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award
This award recognizes a volunteer of the Charleston chapter of the AMA who has gone above and beyond in their role of volunteer to contribute to the chapter’s success. Nominate someone and in 250 words or less, please explain why the nominee should be considered for this award, including examples of chapter service and volunteerism. Only Charleston AMA members in good standing will be considered for this award.
Marketer of the Year Award
Charleston’s Most Prestigious Marketing Award. This award honors a marketer currently working in the greater Charleston area who enhances the marketing community. Nominate someone and in 250 words or less, explain why your nominee should be considered for this award, including examples of marketing excellence in his/her job and contributions to the overall marketing industry in Charleston. Nominees do not have to be members of the Charleston AMA to be considered for this award.
HOW TO ENTER (Submissions Are Now Closed)
Entry Process & Information
AMA Charleston members may submit up to 3 entries for free. Additional entries are $35 per entry.
Non-member entry fees are $45 per entry.
Submissions for the 2020 Spark! Awards are due February 28. All submissions must be from projects/campaigns completed during 2019. All submissions must be digital and made online using the Spark! Awards Submission Form. If you are submitting more than 10 entries, please contact email@example.com for special instructions.
For each Project or Campaign award category, submit ONE link to showcase your work. This may be a Dropbox link, Google Docs or Folder link, your own URL, etc. Please make sure your link has public access. Links without public access will not be considered for awards.
Entry fees will be processed at the conclusion of the submission.
Entries are judged by board members of other AMA chapters nationwide. Award decisions are final. No refunds for entry fees.
Note that once you begin to fill out your submission form, you cannot save and return to it later. You may want to be prepared with the following information for each submission: project title, URL, and project overview.
